Green Baseload: A Strategic Vision for a Sustainable and Reliable Energy Supply
In the evolving landscape of renewable energy, the goal is no longer just generation—it is consistency. We are focused on delivering Reliable & Efficient Green Energy through a model that ensures:
-
Reliable & Uninterrupted Power
-
Advanced Energy Arbitrage
-
Grid Stabilization
-
Maximum Efficiency
What is Green Baseload?
The greatest challenge for wind and solar power is intermittency—they generate electricity when the sun shines or the wind blows. This creates a fluctuating supply that challenges grid stability. Green Baseload is a revolutionary approach that transforms intermittent renewables into a consistent and reliable power source. It is achieved by creating a synergistic portfolio of complementary clean energy assets.
How It Works
Our model leverages the synergy between wind, solar, and energy storage to unlock multiple value streams, ensuring both grid stability and maximum asset performance.
- Complementary Generation: Combining wind and solar power smoothens the output, as they often produce energy at different times of the day and year.
- Energy Storage: Large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) are the key. They store excess energy during peak production and release it when generation is low, filling the gaps to ensure a continuous flow.
Fortis Strategy
We are turning the Green Baseload concept into reality with our pioneering Central and Eastern Europe strategy. We are developing an integrated portfolio designed specifically to provide stable, clean power to the grid. This strategic hybridization of assets is engineered to deliver a consistent power supply, establishing Fortis as a key provider of Green Baseload energy in the region.
Our Vision: Leading the Green Transition
Our vision is to become a leading actor in the European green transition. We are proving that environmental stewardship and socio-economic growth can be achieved in unison.
We are building the foundation for a reliable, clean energy future for Europe.
