Fortis Energy and Inelso Energy sign EUR 25.5 million joint investment agreement for 30 MW solar-storage project in Serbia.
Fortis Energy and İnelso Energy Systems have signed a joint investment agreement for a 30 MWp solar power plant combined with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Serbia’s Vojvodina region, just 33 km from Belgrade.Representing a total investment of approximately EUR 25.5 million, the project has reached Ready-to-Build (RTB) status. With the construction permit expected to be issued within one month, the project is set to advance directly into the construction phase.
Once operational, the plant is expected to generate more than 40 GWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of over 11,000 households, while avoiding an estimated 19,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
The project’s offtake structure will combine long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with merchant market participation, with the objective of optimizing capture rates while benefiting from the increasing maturity and liquidity of Serbia’s electricity market.
The integrated BESS is at the core of the project’s design. By enabling energy time-shifting and output firming, the system is designed to transform intermittent solar generation into a more reliable and dispatchable energy asset. This directly supports Fortis Energy’s Green Baseload strategy, which aims to combine renewable generation and storage to provide a more stable and reliable power supply.
Enkraft Energy will undertake full EPC responsibility for the project. As a new entrant in the Serbian market, Enkraft is backed by a team with proven experience in the execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the region.
The project marks the operational launch of Enkraft Energy as a dedicated EPC platform for solar and energy storage projects across Southeast Europe, bringing together investment capability and execution expertise to support the region’s energy transition.
