Fortis Energy welcomed a delegation from Libya’s National Development Agency (NDA) to Fortis headquarters, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance international collaboration in the field of sustainable energy. The meeting, led by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Farjani, Executive Director of NDA, and Hakki Baris KARACA, CEO of Fortis Energy Türkiye, focused on potential cooperation in renewable energy projects across Libya.
Within the scope of Libya’s broader strategy to diversify its energy sources and strengthen its infrastructure, the parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in solar, biogas and energy storage technologies—areas in which Fortis Energy has extensive expertise. Fortis currently operates and develops projects in several countries including Türkiye, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Spain and Albania.
Mr. Karaca expressed Fortis Energy’s keen interest in contributing to Libya’s development goals. He emphasized the Fortis's readiness to deliver clean and efficient energy solutions tailored to support sectors such as agriculture, in line with Fortis’s mission to promote sustainability through innovation.
This visit forms part of a series of high-level engagements by the NDA with international energy stakeholders, aiming to build strategic partnerships and accelerate Libya’s transition to a more resilient and diversified energy system.
